Hello!

Thank you for stopping by the website. I hope the information you’ve read about Entwine Education so far has been useful.

I want to take an opportunity, aside from the formal information you can read, to express how passionate I am about Reasoning and what a huge part of my life it has become over the past almost decade.

Whilst I have always loved Maths, Reasoning has definitely taken the top spot as the subject I believe is most valuable to learn in childhood. Reasoning skills are entwined in everything we do, more so now than ever before given the overwhelming abundance of information we are all bombarded with every day. Our children are experiencing this too, and I feel there are few things as important as being able to process information in a rational, structured, informed way. And aside from the value, Reasoning is fun!

I am often conflicted about the inclusion of Reasoning as an entrance exam subject. I’m delighted that children now have cause to be exposed to Reasoning, however the subject has also gained something of a bad reputation due to its association with ‘innate intelligence’. The idea that Reasoning ability is something that ‘you’re born with’ is a real barrier to how valuable the subject is, and unfortunately has become a bit of an excuse for poor teaching.

I want to make my stance on this very clear: Reasoning can be taught. Reasoning should be taught. Not teaching children Reasoning skills is doing them an enormous disservice.

After many years of teaching solo, I founded Entwine Education with the goal of reaching more children, as I was unable to fulfil the demand alone. Everyone who works with me has been taught my approach, and is held to the same standard and values that my career has been built on.

We aim to create a fun and engaging learning experience in which to increase a student’s confidence and enthusiasm. The most important aspect of the teacher-student dynamic is that the students feel they are in a safe, friendly and open minded environment, where they are free to ask questions and express their concerns and confusions confidently, and without fear of judgement.

The Entwine Education teaching team is exclusively made up of ‘career tutors’; this is their full-time job. Our teaching team do not work a 9-5 corporate job or teach in a school. This is very important to me, because I believe that in order to be really good at something, you must be committed to it. I want to ensure that our students get the best version of their teacher, whether that is in a private session or a workshop, not a worn out, end-of-the-day version.

I very much hope that my team and I will meet your child at an Entwine Education workshop or tuition session one day!
